Arterial Stiffness and Left Ventricular Diastolic Function in Subjects with Euthyroidism

چکیده
Objective: Previous literature has suggested that the cardiovascular risk factors associated with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) may be found in subjects euthyroidism, but research relating to increased arterial stiffness (AS) and left ventricular (LV) diastolic dysfunction, which have been proven exist patients SCH, is limited euthyroidism. The aim of this study was investigate this. Methods: A total 249 participants euthyroidism were divided into two groups based on their thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels: Group (TSH level ranging from 0.49 2.5 mIU/L, n = 170) B 4.91 79). Cardiovascular Profiling System through brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) used assess AS, LV function evaluated using Color-Doppler-Echocardiography. Student’s unpaired t-test Pearson’s χ2 test conducted compare clinical parameters. Spearman’s correlation analysis multiple logistic regression analyze association between thyroid function, baPWV, Results: Significant differences existed free triiodothyronine (fT3) values systolic blood pressure (BP) (p < 0.05). When compared A, baPWV higher, increased, E/A ratio lower 0.01). showed fT3 a higher 0.001). directly correlated TSH, fT3, 0.05), BP significantly Thyroperoxidase antibody not significant variable > Conclusions: An Further needed confirm these conclusions.

Arterial Stiffness Arterial Stiffness and Wave Reflection Sex Differences and Relationship With Left Ventricular Diastolic Function
Increased arterial stiffness and wave reflection have been reported in heart failure with normal ejection fraction (HFNEF) and in asymptomatic left ventricular (LV) diastolic dysfunction, a precursor of HFNEF. It is unclear whether women, who have higher frequency of HFNEF, are more vulnerable than men to the deleterious effects of arterial stiffness on LV diastolic function. We investigated, i...
متن کاملArterial stiffness and left ventricular diastolic function: does sex matter?
Diastolic heart failure with preserved systolic ejection fraction is becoming a major health burden and is responsible for 50% of heart failure hospital admissions. Arterial hypertension is one of the most important risk factors for diastolic dysfunction; however, systolic and diastolic blood pressures are the 2 extreme points of the arterial waveform. Arterial stiffness/elasticity derived from...
متن کاملAssociation of Arterial Stiffness and Electrocardiography-Determined Left Ventricular Hypertrophy with Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction
OBJECTIVES Increased arterial stiffness is associated with left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD), but this association may be influenced by left ventricular (LV) performance. Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is not only a significant determinant of LV performance, but is also correlated with LVDD. This study is designed to compare LV diastolic function among patients divided by brachi...

متن کاملLEFT VENTRICULAR DIASTOLIC ABNORMALITIES IN β-THALASSEMIA MAJOR WITH NORMAL SYSTOLIC FUNCTION
In order to identify left ventricular diastolic function in patients with betathalassemia major and normal systolic function by noninvasive M-mode and Doppler echocardiography, an analytic study was designed in a university hospital in Sari. We have studied 44 patients (23 men and 21 women), mean age 15.48±2.16 (range 12 to 20) and 43 age and sex matched control subjects. Peak flow velocit...
